Hello, my name is Astrid, and today I would like to talk about my experience with smoking cessation through hypnosis.
It was several years ago. I had smoked for many years and had already tried many ways to stop smoking: books, seminars, and I had also been partly successful. Then I came to Nicole Arzt through a recommendation and thought: smoke-free through hypnosis, I have to try that.
It was a really interesting experience. We met once beforehand and spoke about everything in great detail. It was very pleasant, in a wonderful practice environment. We went through all the points very carefully: the situations in which I smoked and when I reached for a cigarette. That was the preliminary talk, and after that the hypnosis began.
The hypnosis itself was my very first experience with hypnosis. I did not know what I was getting into, but I allowed myself to fully let go and I have to say, I was very impressed.
Not only did I wake up from the hypnosis feeling wide awake and as if I had slept through the entire night; I could not really remember the individual points and of course I wondered what would now happen with smoking and not smoking. You are not supposed to talk about it for 24 hours.
Two days later, I actually went on holiday with friends who knew nothing about my smoking cessation hypnosis. I went skiing with people, we celebrated, went skiing, had the typical apres-ski experience, and I did not think about a cigarette once.
It went so far that nobody even noticed I was no longer smoking, including myself. At some point I thought: you have now had two evenings of apres-ski and have not even thought about a cigarette.
All of this was a long time ago. I would estimate eight or nine years ago, and I have to say, I have been happily smoke-free ever since. It does not bother me when other people smoke. Of course, the smell bothers you, but I do not have any militant ex-smoker attitude in me and I do not want to convince anyone.
When someone asks me, I am always happy to recommend hypnosis because it is simply a way to do the whole thing completely stress-free and without pressure. In that sense, I can recommend hypnosis again and again for any habits you want to let go of and that you cannot overcome with willpower alone.
